The Akroyd is one of the strip winged flies and was designed by Charles Akroyd in about 1878, and is one of the Dee flies that is still regularly used. The narrow wings and long flowing body hackles gives its effective. When you a day had tried some of your favorite flies, and always changing fly size, a bright or a dark one. Try a fly with a different profile.

The Fly tying pattern:
- Tag:Oval silver tinsel
- Body:Rear 2/3 orange floss. Front 1/3 black floss
- Rib:Oval silver tinsel
- Body Hackle: Yellow hackle over orange floss
- Wing: Black bucktail in two bunches above & below body
- Collar: Natural guinea fowl
- Head: Black veevus 14/0
