THE ROOTBEER

This fly has been made after finding inspiration from Denis O ́toole’s article in Trout & Salmon. Copper has always for me been a super color for salmon. Whether it’s been in Norway or Denmark. Colored selection allows me to use it throughout the season, and has made them in different sizes depending on water temperature and water flow.

Below you can see a step by step picture version of the fly, and the fly tying pattern is under the pictures.

The Fly Tying Pattern THE ROOTBEER:

  • Tube: Small Black 1.7mm
  • Body disc: Black 6mm black disc
  • Body Beads: Tungsten black 5 mm – weight 0.9 gram
  • Body: Polar reflector flash rootbeer with peacock herl over
  • Wing: Black raccoon
  • Cheeks: Jungle cock
  • Head: Black disc or cone
